It's an eye drop that prevents tears. Even with goggles on a lot of people experience tearing of the eyes at higher speed, so tearoffs help with that.

This is really good news. Also, three stellar never-before-seen photos from Hylands. I swear the Open has always produced some of sharpest looking racing pictures year after year. Hopefully the new management of the bike park at Mountain Creek can put on another stellar, big-time event like the U.S. Open. Also, hopefully they change the tired old slanted-slab rock section coming into the JBL garden. That is the most awkward, least fun 20 feet of trail I've ever ridden.

Hey Mike, I keep having comments of mine getting removed. You can see on my profile that I left a comment on the T-Mo racing article that came out today, and it is nowhere to be found on the article. If my comments are being auto removed, please let me know. Also, I had a comment removed from "Blopes55 on X-fusion" article. That comment can also be seen on my profile. If I am being censored, I'd like to know. Thanks for your assistance in the matter, and thanks for running a stellar site!

Here's a little write up that I did on my blog that I think should explain my thoughts on the matter: http://theteamrobot.blogspot.com/2011/12/trail-rules.html Alex, myself, and a few others ride at those trails because we have carefully cultivated a relationship based on trust with the trail builders for more than half a decade now. So yes, people trying to "share the stoke" is not cool. It is not your stoke to share.

Her fox 40s do look really stiff probably because she is so legit.

Continuing with our game of "perhaps" and completing Alex's train of thought, perhaps that makes you an asshole.

Downhill, like BMX trail building, is a black sheep. It is dangerous, it incurs liability for landowners, environmentalists feel like it is detrimental to the environment. DH trail building is misunderstood, unwanted, and unwelcome. Like BMX trail building, it tends to occur illegally. This means that it is not a laughing matter. Trail builders put their livelihoods on the line to build trail, not to mention their time, $$ and love. What this means is that the relationship between trail builder and trail users is complex, and sacred. One thing you might not have considered is that there is more than one trail builder. Let's play a game of "perhaps." Perhaps there's more than one trail builder. Perhaps there are several. Because they are human after all, perhaps they don't agree about everything. Perhaps only one of them invited you out there, and perhaps the rest of the trail builders don't agree with the decsion of the one who invited you. Perhaps the others are really pissed that you: a) got invited b) brought uninvited friends with you c) will know about the location of this trail forever and ever, and there's nothing that can be done to undo this fact d) might continue to tell more and more people, and they will tell more and more people, and there's nothing that can be done to undo this e) did a total boner air on this jump f) then posted your total boner air picture of yourself on their illegal trail on the most popular mountain bike website in the world (continue reading down below)

First I'd like to point out that I did not build as much of that trail as J did. I concede that. I'd also like to concede that Alex is, indeed, a loud mouth jackass. That's why Alex is awesome. Successfully identifying that character trait in Alex makes you at least as perceptive as the guy on the Titanic who saw the iceberg. However, the fact that Alex is a jackass does not preclude him from speaking the truth. Neither does the fact that Alex didn't build the trail disqualify him from calling someone a poach. The fact is that being a cross country mountain biker is all about riding trail that someone else dreamed up, planned out, built, and maintained. Maybe once a year you do a "trail day" with 80 other assholes and you walk away feeling a piece of ownership in the trail system. That works for XC, but that is not how downhill works. Riding someone else's trail spot is a sacred privilege. You must ask permission. Plan on being told no, or just having the digger pretend like he has no idea what you're talking about. Do not bring firends. Do not bring cameras. Don't mention it to your friends or family. Do not post about your "sick sesh" on facebook. Do not blog about them. Never tell anyone where they are, and lie about what city and state they're in. You do not skid. You do not case. If you have to hurt yourself to avoid skidding, don't skid. Before you even think about riding, water everything. If you have to walk two miles to get water, walk two miles to get water. Never walk on lips. Never walk on landings. Don't speak to the trail builders or their friends until spoken to. Probably don't even make eye contact. Apologize for everything all the time, and ask what you can work on while they ride. Plan on spending at least an hour not talking and shoveling some other project while the builders and their friends ride, drink, don't help you, and generally enjoy themselves. It's about respect; they deserve yours, and you deserve none. They build with dirt, and you are less than dirt. You are nothing. Maybe if you come and help dig and show up for every dig session for two years they'll address you as a peer. Probably not. If you break these rules you will be yelled at, made fun of, shunned, banished, shot, stabbed, buried alive, or have your tires slit. The reason BMXers hate mountain bikers is because mountain bikers do not understand these simple, obvious truths.

This is good for mountain biking. Way to go Brandon for bringing outside money into the sport. Now let's get Mt. Dew back into downhill racing.
